Thank you for starting this blog site. Hopefully, the rest of Indymac uninsured depositors will find this website so we could all join hands in fighting for what is rightfully ours. The article on Thestreet.com is exactly how I feel about how we are being left out from the government bailout. Hopefully, President elect- Obama will listen to our predicament. Good luck to all of us.

The day before FDIC took over, I spoke to Rosa Villavicencio on the phone at the bank at 9:08am
ReplyDeleteIt's logged at the bank. I was asking to have my accounts closed and have the money sent. She gave me false information, I hope it's recorded.
She told me my money was fully insured as the accounts were titled at that time. I based my decision to leave the money with Indymac on her advise. The next day FDIC took over. I wasn't fully insured as she had informed me.
That's it in a nutshell but there were other attempts to add beneficiaries and the bank said it wasn't per acct. but as long as the total at any one bank was covered by enough beneficiaries per 100k deposited it all was insured. Later the FDIC said the beneficiares have to be on the appropriate accounts. Negligence by Ms. Villavicencio.
Thanks for starting this blog.
ReplyDeleteI am one of many that lost funds in the IndyMac failure. I was given the wrong information by a bank rep and was told my account would be set up so it would be insured. The FDIC were unable to help since they said the original bank no longer existed so there was no one responsible.
I will follow the blog to hear people's suggestions on who to write/call to get to our goal of retroactive insurance.
Any and all suggestions are always appreciated.
